Really Direct

This week we have been doing contacts a lot more direct.  For example, "hi, would you like to live with your family forever?"  It is hard to say no to that.  But we get more success with that.  But the information that we know is really important and great that we understand.  That scares a lot of people to ask if they know what happens after death.

But today we played volleyball with our district and we collected avocado from the trees that the church has.  But this week has been good.  We are setting up family home evenings with the members to get to know someone else and hopefully teach them.  And reactivating the less active members.  Because references are a lot more effective than contacts.

I was reading in Ether this week and I love in chapter 12 it talks about faith but also what it says about our weaknesses.  It says that the Lord will help us to make our weaknesses strengths if we humble ourselves and turn to him for help.  This can be in any aspect of your life but relying on the Lord for these things is almost cheating and I can see the help and comfort in my life with these things.

We had some horses go for a hike to the park nearby.  Fun stuff

Finding People

This week started out with a meeting for all the leader.  My comp is the district leader so we went to this meeting and then we split up with the other new companions to go do contacts.  We had a little more than an hour and we had to do a ton of contacts and give away about 50 cards in the contacts.  That was fun.  Definitely different.

Because we don't have that many people that we are teaching we are trying to find lots more.  We had a movie activity this Friday to invite people and hopefully find people or talk to the friends of members.  However, only one person showed up and he was a less active member that we invited.  So we didn't meet anyone but they watched Aquaman and left before it ended.  So I have no idea how it ends. 2-year cliff hanger.

Other than that we had a super great first lesson with a family that I contacted the other week.  It will be great to see if they can progress and what happens to start to finish helping these people.  They were super receptive.

We had to watch these safety videos this week but as we were trying to load one it wouldn't work.  We reloaded it a ton, waited, opened up the tab again.  Everything.  It wasn't working.  We stopped, said a prayer, boom. Worked perfectly.  And that happened twice.  Prayer works my friends.  But God can only work miracles according to our faith.  So we need to trust that he can and will help us.

I finished reading the Book of Mormon this week which was awesome.  First time in Spanish.  I can understand and read a whole lot better after that.  But it was good to refresh my testimony on that.  Anyone who wants to know if this is the church of Christ on the earth needs to read the book and pray.  Nothing else will prove it.

Hey guys.  The mission actually doesn't have a limit on calls or anything so let me know if you guys are available to call in a little bit.  Also other days. But this week was cool.  And it was a little colder which was nice.  I cut my hair today but my 15 dollar cutter crapped out.  So I need to see what I can do about that.  It is more efficient to cut my own hair and save 64,000 pesos over 24 months but I don't know if they sell them here or where I would get one.  But I have used my card a few times already and it works which is good.  Anything new there? I saw some ad. for the galaxy s10 which looks super cool.  That will be cool to see the progress of stuff over time.  But love you guys.  Let me know if any of you are available for a second to talk.
